Reflective Memo

I entered the Technical Communication and Rhetoric (TCR) program at Texas Tech University with a strong foundation in professional practice, but without formal academic training in the field. With over 27 years of experience in entrepreneurship, digital marketing, instructional design, and user experience, I brought a depth of real-world insight. Still, it was the structured study of Technical Communication that empowered me to refine and expand my skills with greater purpose and intentionality.

This portfolio reflects how I’ve integrated theory with practice—applying academic frameworks and research-based methodologies to elevate my professional work. From clarity and accessibility to audience engagement and ethical communication, this process has transformed not only how I work, but how I lead. As I now continue my academic journey through the EdD program at Johns Hopkins, I carry forward these lessons with a deeper commitment to making knowledge accessible, impactful, and human-centered.

Hey Y’all,

Thanks for stopping by my online portfolio to check out some of my favorite projects. Over the years, I’ve gained a lot of experience in web design, course design, and UX which stands for user-experience and is all about making cool stuff online function better for YOU the viewer.

This portfolio is a snapshot of some of my favorite projects over the last 26+ years.  I’m very intentional to blend real-world experience with what I’ve learned during my studies at Texas Tech University (Wreck ’em). Some of the content may seem very technical and “wordy” but I’m sharing this online portfolio with several different types of individuals like you, my Texas Tech professors, and even a potential employer. Hope you find something you enjoy and perhaps even find inspiring!

The purpose of this website is to share my design projects like websites, courses, videos, and more. I’ve spent time collecting some of my all-time favorites. Scroll down to see the options.

Some of my Favorite Projects

“Effective communication is not just about writing, but about thinking clearly and making sure that your audience’s needs are met. It’s concise, relatable, and speaks to the very heart of what Technical Communication is all about: making information accessible.” – Kori
