The Challenge

Effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are essential for companies to ensure consistency, efficiency, and clarity across all operations. Marketing SOPs provide clear guidelines for executing marketing strategies, from content creation to campaign management, enabling teams to maintain quality control and streamline processes. By having well-documented procedures, companies can ensure that marketing tasks are executed consistently, reduce errors, and improve collaboration, ultimately leading to better results and a more cohesive brand presence.
The Process
Participatory Design: I involved key stakeholders, like their marketing team members, in the creation of the SOP to ensure it aligned with their actual workflows. By engaging the team through interviews and workshops, I gathered feedback and refined procedures to meet their needs, making the SOP more practical and user-friendly.
Task Analysis: I broke down each marketing task into its component steps to ensure that all necessary actions were documented. This helped me identify the most efficient ways to complete tasks and uncover any gaps in their current process.
User-Centered Design (UCD): I focused on creating an SOP that was easy to follow, minimizing complexity and ensuring the instructions were clear and accessible to everyone on the team. I considered various skill levels and preferences in the layout and language I used.
